Hello, I'm a piano teacher in Balcatta giving lessons following the highly regarded Simply Music method. This approach enables students to play great sounding blues, classical and contemporary pieces in their first few months of lessons. Students then continue on to develop a well rounded musicianship.
The Simply Music method involves learning to play a wide variety of songs before learning to read sheet music. The advantage of beginning this way is that students experience the simple enjoyment of playing songs early on. It also means they are already comfortable with the keyboard, rhythm, and hand/finger coordination prior to beginning the language of music notation.
