Not so Masterly
Roger redesigned our backyard to make it safer and more fun for our children, but he did not provide any sort of written quote or contract, and regularly asked for his payment, always in advance of the work being done. After about 8 weeks of fairly regular work, he disappeared to work on his next job and we rarely saw him, despite our job not being finished.
Later when I contacted him to see when he would return he told me that I was being impatient (it had been 12 weeks), to find someone else and hung up on me.
The Department of Consumer Protection has since told me it is illegal to do landscaping works without a signed, written contract, and the new contractors I am getting in have pointed out all the dodgy work he has done, leaving me hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
