Traditional Healthcare
Traditional Healthcare creates sustainable health care facilities for underprivileged communities.
In 2007, two Australian acupuncturists, visited India and volunteered in the village of Datom.
When word spread that these western trained ‘doctors’ were going to Datom, hundreds of people made their way to the makeshift clinic, some walking up to three days for treatment.
They treated people suffering from malnourishment, stroke, paralysis and many other conditions. Many had never been given any medical attention in their lives. At one stage, a tide of people surged into the narrow mud hut, afraid to miss out on medical attention. Although Tom and Tasja each managed to treat over 200 people in two days, countless others were left untreated.
This short experience changed the focus of their lives forever. They returned to Australia and dedicated themselves to creating a not for profit / charitable organisation.
